PFD Reserves

The Page Fire Department Reserve Program’s core purpose is to augment the Fire Department in a supportive capacity and to enable it to view its reserves as potential firefighter candidates.

With approximately ten members, the Page Fire Department’s Reserve program supports various functions within the Fire Department to include: Fire Prevention, Services, Fire and EMS incidents, and monthly training.

In Fire Prevention, reserves assist with fire prevention inspections, environmental projects and are sometimes assigned administrative duties as well. Reserves assigned to Fire Prevention, some of whom aspire to obtain an actual career in Fire Prevention. Those reserves whose ultimate goal is to work in suppression receive valuable training in the fire prevention field, which ultimately enhances their ability to compete as a firefighter candidate.

Fire administration reserves work under the direction of the Fire Chief’s secretary and assist with various administrative projects.

One of the main goals of the Page Fire Department is to prepare its reserves for a career in the fire Service. The Fire Department also offers free AED/CPR certification for its reserves. Fire suppression training are periodically held to teach basic firefighting skills. Some of the skills taught are hose lays, ladder evolutions, ropes & knots and tools and equipment familiarization. The Fire Department also has a strong emphasis on EMS training due to the large percentage of call volume.
